Pheno hunts

Evaluate large populations from a cross or seed lot, mark individuals as keepers or rejects, and promote keepers to cultivars and selections.

  • Create hunt trials by choosing a design such as Observation nursery or Unreplicated and optionally linking a source cross or germplasm lot
  • Add plants in bulk; entries start as Pending, then set to Keeper or Rejected as you evaluate. Use the Keeper board view to tap cards and cycle status from Pending to Keeper to Rejected at a glance.
  • Promote keepers to create a new Cultivar and Selection per keeper; link from trial entry to cultivar
  • Record observations per entry; use protocol stages when the hunt is linked to a protocol usage
